Tame es un municipio situado en el suroccidente del departamento de Arauca (Colombia), a una altitud de 343 m s. n. m., ubicado en una meseta de las últimas estribaciones de la Cordillera Oriental, la cual baja encajonada por la vertiente de los ríos Tame y Cravo. Tiene un clima tropical. La lluvia es significativa la mayoría de los meses del año, y la estación seca corta tiene poco efecto. La temperatura aquí es en promedio 25.3 ° C. / Tame is a municipality located in the southwest of the department of Arauca (Colombia), at an altitude of 343 m. n. m., located on a plateau of the last foothills of the Cordillera Oriental, which falls encased by the slope of the Tame and Cravo rivers. Es paso obligado para quienes viajan del centro del país al departamento de Arauca. En esta localidad se encontraron por primera vez el libertador Simón Bolívar y el general Francisco de Paula Santander. Bolívar le dio a Tame el título de «Cuna de la Libertad», pues fue en Tame donde nació el Ejército Nacional de Colombia. / It is a must for those traveling from the center of the country to the department of Arauca. El arequipe tameño es uno de los más deliciosos del país al igual que el queso llanero, su carne asada de res es deliciosa y apetecida por los visitantes. / The tameño arequipe is one of the most delicious in the country as is the llanero cheese, its roast beef is delicious and desired by visitors.

PARQUE NEVADO DEL COCUY / COCUY SNOW PARK:

LA LAGUNA DE LA VIEJA / THE OLD LAGOON:

ESTADERO RÍO TAME: TAME RIVER SHELF

El río Tame es la principal fuente hídrica del municipio; además es majestuoso y cristalino. Está ubicado a las afueras del municipio, salida que comunica con el departamento de Casanare. / The Tame River is the main water source of the municipality; it is also majestic and crystalline.  LAS CACHAMAS:

CAÑO GUALABAO: 

Este caño es muy representativo para el municipio y muy apetecido muy turistas y propios, ya que es un sitio tranquilo. Además el caño recibió en 2007 el premio Gota de oro por su pureza, Se dice que la persona que tome agua o se bañe en este caño, no se va a querer ir de Tame. / This pipe is very representative for the municipality and very popular with tourists and their own, since it is a quiet place. PARQUE GENERAL SANTANDER / SANTANDER GENERAL PARK

Este es el parque central o principal del municipio, ya que fue el primero del municipio y donde se llevó el encuentro de los ejércitos de la libertad, allí mismo fue donde se hizo el brindis y Bolívar bautizo a Tame “Cuna de la Libertad”. / This is the central or main park of the municipality, since it was the first in the municipality and where the meeting of the armies of freedom took place, that is where the toast was made and Bolívar baptized Tame "Cradle of Freedom".

PARQUE DE LOS LANCEROS: PARK OF THE LANCEROS:

Este parque lleva este nombre porque se hizo en honor a los 11 lanceros tameños que hicieron parte del ejército de la independencia Colombiana, el parque cuenta con 11 columnas que representan los lanceros tameños. / This park bears this name because it was made in honor of the 11 Tameños lancers who were part of the Colombian independence army, the park has 11 columns representing the Tameño lancers

PARQUE O PLAZA DEL ENCUENTRO: PARK OR PLACE OF THE MEETING:

Esta plaza cuenta con la estatua de Bolívar y Santander sentados, haciendo simulación del momento que ellos se reunieron para planificar parte de la campaña libertadora. IGLESIA CENTRAL DE TAME TAME CENTRAL CHURCH

El ahora llamado Taller San José fue la iglesia principal del municipio, es representativa para el municipio por su historia y tradición, porque fue en ella donde Bolívar y Santander llegan a hospedarse y a organizar parte de su ejército, ahora está siendo utilizada para las celebraciones de la Semana Santa, se construyó la nueva iglesia debido al mal estado en que quedo después de un terremoto en el municipio, esta iglesia fue sustituida por la hoy llamada iglesia Nuestra Señora de la Asunción que paso a ser la iglesia principal del municipio y queda ubicada justo al lado del Taller. / The now called San José Workshop was the main church of the municipality, it is representative for the municipality because of its history and tradition, because it was in it where Bolívar and Santander come to stay and organize part of their army, it is now being used for the celebrations of Holy Week, the new church was built due to the poor state in which I am left after an earthquake in the municipality, this church was replaced by the today called Our Lady of the Assumption church that became the main church of the municipality and is located right next to the workshop.

ALCALDÍA MUNICIPAL DE TAME / MUNICIPAL MAYOR OF TAME

La alcaldía de Tame se encuentra frente al parque central del municipio, por la calle 15 al lado de la estación de policía y diagonal a la iglesia central. / The mayor's office of Tame is located in front of the central park of the municipality, on 15th street next to the police station and diagonal to the central church.

DEPORTES Y JUEGO TRADICIONALES DE TAME / TAME TRADITIONAL SPORTS AND GAME

EL COLEO:

El coleo hoy en día es considerado un deporte y es practicado en muchos países del mundo. Este deporte consiste en corretear un toro hasta alcanzarlo, tomarlo por la cola y tumbarlo al piso, la puntuación va de acuerdo a las vueltas que de el toro sobre sí mismo cuando cae, si cae no da vuelta es “costado” cuenta con la menor puntuación, si da una vuelta es “campana” y es la segunda puntuación y si el toro da dos vueltas es “campanilla” la mayor puntuación. / Coleo today is considered a sport and is practiced in many countries of the world. TROMPO:

Este juego es muy popular en muchas zonas de Colombia, por lo que para muchos es muy familiar, es un juguete en forma de cono, al trompo se le enrolla una cuerda para lanzarlo y hacer que gire sobre sí mismo, a esto se le conoce coloquialmente como “hacer bailar el trompo”. / This game is very popular in many areas of Colombia, so for many it is very familiar, it is a cone-shaped toy, a spinning rope is rolled to the top and made to spin on itself, this is known colloquially as "make the trompo dance".

LAZO CRIOLLO / THE CREOLE TIE

El lazo criollo más que ser un deporte es un trabajo de llano o vaquería, este consiste en coger un lazo y tirarlo al toro para este quede amarrado, este método se utilizaba para amarrar el toro con más facilidad y tener que acercarse a él. / The Creole tie rather than being a sport is a plain or dairy job, this is to take a tie and throw it to the bull to be tied, this method was used to tie the bull more easily and have to approach it.
